Portofino Island Resort in Pensacola Beach, FL hosted us bloggers for the weekend. The Portofino Island Resort is a short jot from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk and nestled perfectly between the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay. Our stay at the Portofino Island Resort was luxury at its finest! The rooms were amazing! Our balcony had a view of both the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay. Portofino Island Resort offers amenities that a mother on vacation wishes to have each time she travels. They have day camps for the children, water challenge course, 8 pools, lounge chairs on the beach, a spa, and lots more. You can cook in the condo or order room service. The balcony even had a grill. The condos are nicer than the home I own! I cannot say enough about Portofino Island Resort. You must stay there when visiting Pensacola Beach, FL.
2012 has been a year for the Williams family. We experienced a miscarriage, had inconsistent and nerve-wracking lab results (everything is fine it was just poor lab work), my grandmother suffered a major heart attack (she is doing much better now) and Troy quit smoking! Let me clarify and state that Troy quitting smoking is a good thing, however it not an effortless task. At times its effects were stressful. I have run on fumes emotionally. Life is a roller coaster and it seems the last 4 months we have ridden the drop. Praise the Lord we are climbing back up to the top! Brandcation was just was the doctor ordered. It was a big dose of fun with a whole bunch of networking mixed in between.
I arrived early on Friday May 4th and was able to spend one and half hours of uninterrupted me time sitting on the balcony. I remember closing my eyes and smelling the salty air and listening to the sounds of the waves crashing along the shore. Slowly I felt my body unwind and gear up for the excitement that lay ahead. And boy did a lot of fun lie ahead for me! We met our condo mates, aka Team Lady bug and then were sent out on a scavenger hunt on the property of Portofino Island Resort. We had 2 pregnant women in our group, so we hopped a ride with the guest service relation specialist. He helped up wrap up our list and take second place in the hunt.Next, we headed to the beach for blogger olympics. We built sand Whitehouse’s, did a hula hoop contest, sprinted in the bay, and costume dressing contest. It was a work out and a good bonding experience for our team.
Later that evening we headed to the boardwalk to grab a bite to eat at SurfBurger. They had fabulous burgers and to die for sweet potato fries. Friday nights finale was a swag party where we received promotional products from the brands behind Brandcation.
Do you think the doctor knew I was in the market for a new friend?? Meet Melissa, from Fun Saving Money! She was my roomie and the person with whom I engaged in hours of pillow talk!

By the time my head hit the pillow late Friday night/early Saturday morning I felt my spiritual/emotional cup filling up. I was having fun and enjoying every minute. It was just what the dr order.

Even though we were on different teams I’m so glad you went zip lining with our group. You were a lot of fun and a great addition to our great group. I hope we get to hang out together again, soon.
