While in Orlando, FL, on my girls getaway trip, we spent all three evenings living it up at the Universal Citywalk. Each night we dined at one of the unique restaurants and danced and laughed into the wee hours of the night. Universal CityWalk is Orlando’s hottest spot for entertainment, boasting the biggest names in live music, dining, dancing, movies and more. It is an eclectic mix of themed restaurants, nightclubs, specialty shops and also includes a 20-screen movie theater.
From the casual “Floribbean” food and ambiance at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville to the Hot Dog Hall of Fame, there is a restaurant sure to please your palate. Our first night on the getaway we ate at The Cowfish Sushi Burger bar. The Cowfish is one of the coolest restaurants I have ever experienced. The menu of the restaurant is innovative by joining eclectic sushi and creative burgers. The decor was modern, yet had a tropical fish aquarium feel. I especially enjoyed the eclectic playlist that featured everything from Dave Matthews to Beastie Boys to Johnny Cash to Bob Marley.
I noshed on the highly recommend Benton Box sampler entrées. Each sampler features a mini Burger, sushi, sweet potato fries, a spicy Thai cucumber salad and edamame. It was delicious!
We also dined at Antojitos, an authentic mexican restaurant. The food there was amazing and clearly made from scratch with fresh ingredients. I thoroughly enjoyed their tableside guacamole. Yummy! We even made a stop by Margaritaville and enjoyed their delicious cheese curds with a cold beer.
Nightly entertainment such as live karaoke at CityWalk’s Rising Star, teen nights at the groove, specialty martinis at Red Coconut Club, musical acts from around the world and street performances throughout CityWalk keep the energy high seven nights a week. Rhythmic beats pound from high-tech speakers. Neon lights illuminate figures dancing in the streets. Revelers dine at delicious restaurants and club hop until the wee hours of the morning. This is a typical night at Universal Citywalk and we girls were certain not to miss out on a minute of the action! We spent atleast 2-3 hours every night at Rising Star Karaoke. This place is soo much more than your average karaoke bar!! There is a live band and backup singers instead of singing to stereo music. It makes the experience something different and a lot of fun. The crowd was really energetic the and everyone had a great time.
There is plenty of shopping and boutiques at CityWalk. You can find the latest fashions, novelty items, jewelry, cigars, candy, toys, and much more. Some of the stores include Fresh Produce, Fossil, and the Universal Studios Store, where you can get all of your theme park and character merchandise. Many of CityWalk’s restaurants have their own merchandise areas as well, so you can stock up on official gear from the NBA, Jimmy Buffett and the Hard Rock Cafe®.
