Twinbrook Resort Maggie Valley, NC

Cabin 4

Every winter, since 2011, we have made the 7.5 hour drive from Jacksonville, FL to Maggie Valley, NC to stay the Twinbrook Resort and ski at the Cataloochee Ski Area. The area is surrounded by mountain ranges in all directions and boasts spectacular views of the Appalachian’s. Due to Maggie Valley’s short distance from north Florida and because we need a reprive from the heat, we really enjoy our quiet, wintery getaway to the Appalachian Mountains. While its true there are bountiful hotels and motels in the Maggie Valley area, none of them offer the spectacular views or privacy that staying in a log cabin will offer.

Twinbrook Resort

Deep in the heart of Maggie Valley is Twinbrook Resort. Twinbrook is  a collection of cabins and RV spots that are nestled quietly along a mountain creek. The cabins are all full furnished with updated decor, newer kitchen appliances, fireplaces, electric heat and more. The resort  has an indoor heated pool, hot tub, recreation room, sports equipment, playground and barbecue grills.  Its is the perfect year-round place for family vacations, retreats or group get aways.

Water Wheel

Water Wheel, aka Cabin #3, is our favorite cabin. I say that with bias because that is the only cabin we have ever stayed in at the resort.  Yet, we haven’t wanted to stay in any other cabin because we absolutely love it!

Cabin 3 Twinbrook ResortWater Wheel  has a large covered front porch that ushers you into an immaculate and updated 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin. Upon walking directly into the cabin you enter the a large room that contains the kitchen, dining and living area with a large fireplace as its focal piece. Additionally the fully stocked kitchens includes cooking pans, utensils, cups, plates, and a dishwasher. I love that the cabin feels like a home away from home. We always stock up on supplies prior to coming, so that we can get up in the morning and eat breakfast or cook up a snack at night without running out into the cold.

Twinbrook Resort Cabin 3Bedroom #1 has 2 queen beds, a closet and a washer & dryer.  The washer and dryer definitely came in handy after a day in the snow. We certainly had a lot of dirty and wet clothes that needed cleaning.  The master bedroom features a king bed, a private bathroom  with a walk in shower, a  2 person Jacuzzi tub and sliding glass doors that face the backyard creek. The jacuzzi tub was a welcomed relief on our muscles after a long day of skiing.Cabin 3 Master bedroomThe views from the back yard were beautiful and calming. Going in the winter really allows you see the vast land, because the trees are bare.  You can see and certainly hear the creek below from the porch and across the way you are able see the snow dusting the mountain side!   Backyard Creek

Vacations should be full of relaxation and down time. On a cabin vacation it’s easy to start your morning sitting on the porch sipping coffee in soaking in the beauty of the mountains.  Twinbrook Resort provides the perfect environment to relax and enjoy our annual Smoky Mountain getaway.  We love being nestled away in a cozy log cabin along a creek with spectacular views and a short distance from a great ski area. These are memories we will always cherish, thanks in part to Twinbrook and its fabulous accommodations.

I was provided no compensation for my review of the Twinbrook Resort.  We simply have enjoyed our vacations over the years and I wanted to share our lovely experience with my readers.
