Ever After by Vicki Courtney is wonderful book full of humorous life stories that echoed many situations I have experienced as mother and wife.
Vicki’s writings suggest that each of us will have our own Ever After stories. Yet we must call a spade a spade, and acknowledge that our Ever After’s will be riddled with bumps and diverted paths as well as many many blessings. She reminds us that its okay to say NO when others are asking us to volunteer for one more committee. She writes on the importance in nurturing the intimacy of the marriage. Most of all she drives home the point that we need to let go of the fairy tale expectation. Happily Ever after is a choice. True joy is reached when we embrace the grace mercy and peace found in Jesus Christ. When we pursuit him in all aspects of our lives, we will experience the greatest riches this earthly life offers.
Vicki Courtney’s insight as a mother and successful business woman has created a spectacular book. This book is a must read for mother’s trying to juggle it all and it feels quite chaotic. After completing Ever After–Life Lesson’s Learned in my Castle of Chaos, I find myself giggling in the stressful moments, because I know one day they could be a funny story. I am also doing my best to praise The Lord for my blessings and remember to be Christ centered person that God created me to be..which wasn’t perfect. :/ And I am comforted by Vicki’s reminder that God meets us in the middle no matter where we are in the journey.
We all had visions of grandeur the day we got married. What was the one thing about your spouse that surprised you the most after marrying?
