Strawberry Moonshine Punch

February 26, 2015 By Joy Williams 17 Comments

Strawberry Moonshine Punch

Last year while vacationing in Maggie Valley, NC we discovered a phenomenal restaurant, The Moonshine Grill. This restaurant cooks up wood-fire grilled deliciousness! From the steaks to the meatloaf there wasn’t an item ordered that didn’t taste uh-mazing. Oh, and the Moonshine Punch that served was yummy, too. So yummy in fact, I decided to recreate it at home myself!

Strawberry Moonshine Punch

The Moonshine Grill serves several types of moonshine, but the one that is most dear to their heart is a local western Carolina moonshine, Howling Moon.  At the urging of our server, we sampled the Howling Moon apple pie and strawberry moonshine. Both flavors were great! They are definately a type of spirit that you can’t find on the shelves here in Florida. So, we made a pit stop at the liquor store on the way back to the cabin.

The restaurant  served an apple pie moonshine punch, which was great. But, I wanted to create something fun with the strawberry moonshine. I kept the ingredients simple for the punch, because the moonshine itself has its own strong strawberry flavor. The ingredients consist of fresh strawberry puree, ginger ale and strawberry moonshine.  Mix them all together and you get a delicious drink that is perfect after a long day of work and kids.

Not a drinker of alcohol but this looks like a super easy recipe. I use strawberry puree in my protein shakes in the mornings. 🙂

This looks so refreshing right now. I’ve never had moonshine, and I’ve definitely never associated it with fruity girly drinks. It sounds delicious!

It does look and sound yummy. I’m not a drinker either, but I bet I could find a good substitution.
